May

I'm here! Not sure how active I will be. My computer needs new memory so posting pictures takes some time. So this will be more a journal than pictures.
May has been a busy one.
Girl update: Mackenzie will be finished with 1st grade next Tuesday. Amber's last day of pre-school will be on Friday. We have had a few field trips this month. Both girls attended the new Children's Museum which open to the public in June. What a great addition for Saginaw. It was a lot of fun. Amber is looking forward to going back because she did not get to do everything there. The pre-school class had a field trip to Chuck E. Cheese. Amber even made it home with a few tokens. We were the first ones there so we pretty much had the place to ourselves. Mackenzie's class along with some other classes had an all day outing. We headed to the state park in Bay City but it was very cold. So we came back to the school to finish the day.
We have been around home most of this month. Steve's mom has been in the area so we have seen quite a bit of grandma. So making trip to Traverse City has not been needed. We are actually getting some things done around the house. Steve power washed the deck along with some outdoor furniture so we are ready to stain and paint. I was able to clean out a flower bed and plant some new perennial I had received from friends. I received a bird bath for Mother's day so I placed that in a new flower bed area that I'm in the process of cleaning out. I have more work to do there. I've placed a stepping stone that I made last year in MOPS in a better place. I'm going to take a picture once the flower beds mature.
Only 2 more lunches to pack!!!!! I can't wait for summer vacation.
I have been making a conscience effort to cook more at home rather than eating out. When I was growing up and into my mid 30's restaurants were not in abundance around me. Now that I am in Saginaw 5 days out of the week restaurants are everywhere. It is easy to stop for dinner but the costs add up. So I'm cooking and cooking and cooking. Tonight I think it's pork chops. I have to get them out of the freezer.
Steve was able to spend a week in Chicago. Had a great time. He is going to take me there sometime to see the sights. I hear it is beautiful at Christmas but I think I would rather go when the weather is nice.
Well, house work is calling. I'll try to keep up.

So glad that you are alive and well! I was beginning to think that you were never going to update us on your life. I haven't even seen you lately, so I am glad that I do not have to keep checking to see if there is new material! Hooray for the end of the school year.

Good for you on cooking. Restaurants are a super treat for the whole family when they aren't frequented. Maybe I'll see you this summer.
